10 Family Prayers and Declarations

Chanting daily prophetic declarations for our family life is extremely important because it can greatly affect our journey together. Through the examination of these ten amazing prayer declarations which are based on the biblical truth, we set forth on a trip of spiritual prospering and getting our families on the right path.

1. As a family, we live a life of faithfulness and obedience to Jesus Christ. ( Ephesians 2:8-10, Hebrews 11:8-9 ) 

The primary aspect of our foundation is being faithful and obedient to Jesus Christ. Drawing from Ephesians 2:8-10 and Hebrews 11:8-9, we realise that our deeds which are guided by faith, lead our family to the righteous path. The dedication to Christ moulds not only our hearts but also all other parts of our lives, thus creating a bond of unity and purpose at the family level.

2. My family brings the Kingdom of Heaven on earth among the people we interact with. ( Mathew 6:10 )

We recognise our role in manifesting the Kingdom of Heaven here on earth, as stated in Matthew 6. Through our dealings with others, we seek to realise love, kindness, and compassion hence spreading God’s divine presence everywhere.

3. We honor our parents and similar authorities. We will live long in the land that the Lord has given us. (Exodus 20:12 , Ephesians 6:1-2 )

Central to our familial dynamics is the principle of honouring our parents and authorities, as instructed in Exodus 20:12 and in Ephesians 6:1-2. By keeping this value, we not only honour God’s commands but also make sure that the blessings of long life and wealth are shared with our family line

4. Our sons and daughters are a heritage and a blessing from the Lord. (Psalm 127:3) 

Our children are indeed a precious gift from the Lord, as affirmed in Psalm 127. When we embrace this truth and take care of them with love and wisdom, we know that they are the ones that will help us to create a family legacy that will be remembered by future generations.

5. We train our children in the way they should grow. When they are old, they will not depart from it. ( Proverbs 22:6)

As parents, we are entrusted with the responsibility of guiding our children on the path of righteousness, as outlined in Proverbs 22. Through the deliberate teaching and demonstration of the right way of doing things, we give them the tools to overcome the problems of life with unfailing faith and courage.

6. We work well, spend prudently and save wisely and provide for our family in all seasons operating in Godly wisdom and trusting God. ( 1 Timothy 5:8)

We are called to steward our resources wisely, as highlighted in the prophetic declaration for family, 1 Timothy 5. Through smart financial decisions and cherishing Godly wisdom, we make sure that our family’s needs will be met in every season.

7. Our children obey us in everything, as this pleases the Lord. We obey parents and parental figures. ( Colossians 3:20)

In cultivating a culture of obedience and respect within our family, as advocated in Colossians 3, we encourage our children to develop the values of integrity and honour, thus creating harmonious relationships and showing the Lord through our actions that we are pleasing him.

8. My children are like arrows in the hands of a warrior. Our quiver will be full of them. We will be victorious and never be put to shame. ( Psalm 127:4-5)

We embrace the promise of Psalm 127:4-5, in which we are the arrows in the hand of a powerful warrior for our children. Having our hearts in sync with the will of God the Father, we utter the words of victory and abundance for our family’s future, confident that we have been given a destiny of greatness in His name.

9. The Lord goes before us, making our paths straight. His presence is always with us. He will never leave us. The favour of the Lord rests upon our family. (Deuteronomy 31:8, Psalms 90:17) 

We anchor our faith in the unwavering presence and favour of the Lord, as proclaimed in Deuteronomy 31. We are walking in confidence and with each step we take we know that His divine guidance lights our path and His favour is a protective shield around us.

10. Our barns will be full with great harvest of every crop, the flocks in our fields shall multiply by the thousands, even tens of thousands. No enemy shall come near our possessions. Love, Peace & Joy shall flow like a river within and around us. (Psalms 144:12-15) 

 In Psalms 144: 12-15, a daily declaration for success, we read how the world will see an abundant harvest and blessings will be multiplied. Love, peace, and joy which are both within and around us, entail a safe haven of God’s presence.
